Casting Call Details – British Asians Required
Location: London
Duration: Up to 1 week
Paid Work: £100 a day (expenses at the discretion of production)
Dates: 1st –12th August, potentially also a week early September 2022.
Brief:
ITN Productions are casting for a Channel 4 Docu-Drama and require Middle Eastern or British Asian extras.
These would be non-speaking parts, and the extras would be re-enacting different scenarios from the contributor’s childhood, family home life, and escape from home. Most of the filming would be in London, but there’s a possibility we may do a shoot in Dover as well.
The Channel 4 Docu-Drama will cover the dramatic & shocking true story of a young Afghanistan woman’s escape from her abusive strict Muslim family here in the UK to her eventual emancipation from who she was meant to be, to who she is today. Her career choice has shocked and offended many in her community, leading to a murder plot, online abuse, and a constant threat to life. We hear her story, from her point of view in this 75-minute doc that will explore the themes of sex, murder, and honour killings.
British Asian cast requirements:
Female Cast:
- Aged 9 – 12 Middle Eastern or Asian descent
- Aged 17-20 Middle Eastern or Asian descent
- Aged 9 – 17 Middle Eastern or Asian descent
- Aged 40 – 50 Middle Eastern or Asian descent. Would be happy to wear a burqa if necessary.
Male Cast:
- Aged 20 – 30 Middle Eastern or Asian descent
- Aged 40 – 60 Middle Eastern or Asian descent.
- Aged 40 – 60 Middle Eastern or Asian descent.
